Presenting the Yamaha PAC1611MS Mike Stern Signature Model, in his standard gloss Natural finish.
Mike Stern's signature model has been refreshed with Yamaha's "Initial Response Acceleration (I.R.A.)", a wood treatment and finish exclusively by Yamaha. This technology shakes off the stress often found in new guitars and makes them extremely vibrant and responsive.
7-1/4 Inch Radius Neck: Mike’s signature model features a vintage 7 ¼ radius maple neck for outstanding comfort and playability.
Controls and Pickups: A Seymour Duncan '59 in the neck position offers a smooth, defined tone for chords, while the Hot Rails in the bridge delivers fat sustain.
What is Initial Response Acceleration (I.R.A.) you ask?
If you've ever played another guitarist's instrument and not been able to get the same sound, it's probably because you are playing a different style than what the guitar is used to. After playing the same guitar for years, the guitar adapts to the guitarist's playing style. It takes time for a new guitar to adapt to your own way of playing. Stress found between parts like finish, woods, body, neck, fingerboard, nut, bridge, etc., must be released before all of the parts can resonate together as an instrument. It takes time and a lot of playing for this to happen.
Using Yamaha's I.R.A. technology, stresses like those between the finish and wood are released by applying specific vibrations to the completed guitars. Once this treatment is complete, the guitar responds accurately to the guitarist's performance and produces sound more easily. It also shortens the time needed for the guitar to adapt to your playing style and delivers excellent sustain.
Each PAC1611MS comes with a certificate personally signed by Mike to prove this guitar was perfectly crafted to his specifications.
PLEASE NOTE: The PAC1611MS Does NOT include a Case or Gig Bag from the Factory
We would highly recommend something like the Reunion Blues Expedition Series Electric Case for it.
