MIDI is becoming increasingly common on more and more pedals these days, and with the increase of more MIDI pedals and switchers on your board, the chance for MIDI related problems to arise has also grown.

Simple setups using only a few MIDI devices can be trouble free, but if your system has multiple MIDI devices and if all of the MIDI signal wirings are done serially, MIDI data transmission requires a certain amount of time which can result in a delay or a malfunction.

Some devices have MIDI "Thru" jacks that aren't a true "Thru", and add/remove other data along the MIDI stream as it travels to the next device.

The Free the Tone MB-5 MIDI Thru Box helps you solve those problems by receiving one stream of MIDI data and then splitting it into five separate MIDI outs to enable parallel data transmission.

By receiving MIDI data directly from the MB-5, your devices can avoid various problems that can occur if it is serially connected, as they all receive the original MIDI signal.

The wave shape of the MIDI signal fed into the MB-5 is corrected by its internal logic circuit, preventing transmission errors due to deteriorated data wave shape.
