The Dual Rectifier® Solo Head’s release in 1992 marked a new paradigm in high-gain heavy guitar. It delivered a new voice from MESA® Engineering featuring a scooped midrange, ominous low end, and ripping, harmonic-laden top end woven into a mighty wall of tube gain.
With a “feel” as empowering as its sound, the Rectifiers provided an ease of playing that supported and elevated proficiency and was inspirational, rewarding, and addictive. Its sound and impact on the generation that used it to define what rock music would become were as sweeping as they have been lasting.

As visually stunning as it was sonically outrageous, it unleashed a new paradigm in high gain characterized by radically scooped midrange, ominous low end, and ripping, harmonically-layered top end.

While the Dual (and Triple) Rectifiers were upgraded with 3-Channel offerings and various improvements in the early 2000s and again in 2010, it was the original Two-Channel 90s model that became the coveted darlings of aficionados.
With reverence and pride, our friends at Mesa Boogie announce the 90s Dual Rectifier, a faithful recreation of the tube amp that redefined high gain and provided much of the soundtrack of a generation, with some welcome upgrades like improved cleans that enhance but don’t distract.
This new re-creation should satisfy discerning Recto loyalists and new fans alike with the Two-Channel’s beloved Orange/Vintage and Modern/Red, the ability to “clone” them for two of either sound, as well as improvements in the alternate CLEAN Mode.
