Presenting the D'Addario PW-HPK-03 "Restore" Emergency Humidipak Automatic Humidity Control System for Guitar.
Ensuring that your instrument and case are properly humidified before using the Humidipak Maintain System is essential in order to receive the maximum benefits and longevity of the product. The D'Addario Humidipak Restore Kit allows you to safely restore an instrument and case that is in a known dry condition or has previously not been humidified to the proper humidity level without any danger of over humidification.
IDEAL FOR:
ACOUSTIC GUITAR
ACOUSTIC/ELECTRIC GUITAR
Maintaining proper humidification for your Acoustic Guitar is ESSENTIAL, and one of the easiest things you can do to keep your guitar playing and sounding its best. Most problems that acoustic guitars develop over time start life as a humidity problem, where the guitar either got too dry (more common) or too wet (less common). Things like rough fret edges, high action, cracks, bridges lifting, a dip at the end of the fingerboard, loose braces, etc. ALL start life as a humidity problem. While its easy to think that "well, its humid outside, my guitar should be fine", the truth is that inside most modern houses with modern insulation, any time you are running heat or air conditioning, you are drying the air in your house, while the optimum humidity percentage for guitars is 45-50% relative humidity. The easiest way to keep your guitar properly humidified is to keep it in its case when you are not playing, and use an in-case humidifier.
The D'Addario Humidipak is the only maintenance free, two-way humidity control system for guitar. It automatically maintains the optimal 45-50% relative humidity level within your instrument case, eliminating the guesswork and potential mess related to refilling a humidifier. Unlike refillable humidifiers, the Humidipak system provides true “two-way” purified humidity control by adding and removing moisture on demand. This means no more manual adjustments based on seasonal changes, geographic locations, temperature, or other factors.
The Humidipak Kit comes with 3 Humidipaks and a soft mesh pouch that will not harm your instrument's finish. Humidipaks last between 2 and 6 months and should always be kept in a sealed environment like a hard-shell case. Once the Humidipaks become firm, discard and replace using the 3 refills that come in the Humidipak Replacement Pack (PW-HPRP-03).
The Humidipak is our favorite system at the store for easy humidity control of your guitar, and is recommended by name as part of proper care by builders like:
Taylor Guitars (Using a Guitar Humidifier)
Lowden Guitars (Maintenance)
Protects your instrument against warping, cracks and other damage cause by lack of humidification
No more manual adjustments based on seasonal changes, geographic locations, temperature, or other factors Unlike refillable humidifiers
Eliminates the guesswork and anxiety of maintaining your instrument’s proper humidity level
Note: If Your instrument has not been previously humidified or is in a known dry condition, it is recommended to use Humidipak Restore to safely reestablish the proper humidity level to your instrument and it’s case before using the Humidipak Maintain System. Using Maintain packets on a dry instrument/case will greatly shorten the lifespan of the packets.
